Chorleywood Livery and Equine Spa is surrounded by a network of bridleways:
A short ride through the village brings you to Chorleywood Common which has a horse track around Chorleywood golf course.
Five minutes ride from Fairfield is Carpenders Wood which has various routes and circuits up and down hills, and if you have time for a longer ride there is a bridleway that leads out from the other side of the wood up towards Chenies.
From Chenies there is a choice of three routes:
- left-handed onto a bridleway through Great House Farm turning left and returning to Fairfield by road.
- straight through and down the hill onto a bridleway through Mill Farm which leads onto the Forrestry Commission towards Flaunden or Latimer (your choice.
- straight through and down the hill, past Mill Farm, up hill and right onto bridleway through Moonshine Farm. From here you can turn left and link up with the Forrestry Commission.
There are several different routes through and out of the Forrestry Commission. From the Forrestry Commission down to the Latimer Road you can continue onto another bridleway that leads up towards Ley Hill.
On leaving Fairfield in the opposite direction from Carpenders Wood there is a bridleway leading through Phillips Hill Wood that offers a choice of three routes:
- straight on towards Chalfont St Peter where you can continue onto bridleways that lead towards Denham.
- left-handed onto a bridleway through Bullsand Farm and continuing left-handed back to Fairfield.
- right-handed onto a bridleway down Phillips Hill and on towards Chalfont St Giles then continuing right-handed back to Fairfield.
In addition to the above there is a bridleway over another farm in Chorleywood, Hill Farm which also has a choice of two routes. One of the routes finishes at the beginning of another bridleway which can take you over the M25 into Lady Walk Woods and around Woodoak Farm. |
